Experience
Dr Larissa studied Taijiquan and Wushu (both traditional and contemporary forms) with a number of masters for around thirty years. She has been training in internal styles and working with weapons. She has attended a number of seminars, workshops, professional development courses that helped her in her professional growth, e.g. in Shanghai (2005) and the International Wushu Coaches Course in Beijing in 2006 organised by the International Wushu Federation, the International Wushu Judges course organized by IWUF in Wuhan (China) in 2008, etc.
Currently, Dr Larissa is working with the Macquarie University Sports Centre (Sydney, Australia) where she was invited in 2008. She is very often invited as a guest presenter at various corporations and participates in demonstrations and other events promoting Wushu, Tai Chi and Qigong in Australia.
Achievements
Dr Larissa Koroleva was a member of the Team in the World Wushu Championships in Vietnam and later a manager for the Australian National Team in the World Wushu Junior Championships in Malaysia (2006); 2007 Beijing World Wushu Championships; 2007 First China Anhui Huangshan International Traditional Wushu and Wushu Taolu Invitational Tournament (coach); and attended the 2008 Third World Traditional Wushu Championships in Shiyan, China as a member of the Traditional Wushu Committee of the IWUF representing Oceania.
She holds the 6th Duan Wei level and additionally, in 2008, Dr Larissa successfully passed the exams and became a licensed International Wushu Judge.
In 2014, Dr Larissa attended the seminar for Qigong practitioners in Chizhou, China, organised by the International Health Qigong Federation where she was selected as a judge for the International Qigong Tournament.
Since 2000, Dr Larissa coached many students who participated in various competitions from local up to the international and World level and won a number of medals. Some athletes participated in grading and were awarded various Duan Wei levels.
Dr Larissa devotes a lot of her time and efforts to promoting Wushu, Tai Chi and Qigong in Australia, and particularly in NSW. She has been organising competitions, demonstrations, seminars, conferences and various other events. She has been elected to the Wushu & Tai Chi NSW Committee and at the moment is acting as one of the Board Directors of Wushu Council Australia.
Awards
Dr Larissa has participated in numerous State, National and International competitions in Traditional Wushu and Taijiquan as a member of the NSW State Team and the Australian National Team since 2000 (when she competed in the Shanghai Wushu Festival) winning many medals and prizes. In 2012, she participated in the Wudang International Championships and won two gold medals.
She has also participated in various activities, performances and events promoting Wushu in Sydney and was awarded sponsorship from the NSW Minister of Sport to become a delegate from Australia for the International conference for the women in sport leadership.
